Helpful Hints

Here are a few tips you can try before calling a service technician to your home.

Is your air conditioning not working? Check your thermostat and make sure it is set to the “cool” position. Check your circuit breaker and reset it if it is in the “off” position. Check your filter. If it is dirty, replace with a new clean one. Turn the system off for 2 to 3 hours and then reset. Check your outside condensing unit. If it is dirty, carefully remove debris. For a professional cleaning call us to schedule a preventative maintenance appointment. We recommend having this done once every two years.

Does your home not have heat? Check your thermostat and make sure it is set to the “heat” position. Check your gas shut-off switch. If it was inadvertently closed, turn the valve to the “on” position. (The valve is open when the lever is parallel to the pipe.) Check your circuit breaker and reset it if it is in the “off” position. Check your furnace switch and make sure it is in the “on” position. Check your furnace fuse and replace it if blown. Check your furnace filter and replace with a new clean filter. Check your furnace vents. If they are blocked by ice, snow, other obstruction, or they have frosted over; remove the obstruction. For a professional cleaning call us to schedule a preventative maintenance appointment. We recommend having this done every year.
